Parkinson For Prime Minister
I saw with great passion and entertainment Micheal Parkinson on the Jonathan Ross show, as part of Sport relief, talking about the grass roots of sports, and the sudden appearance of 12 Million quid for the London Olympics, he said that this could have been found for grass roots of sport, but could not be found by the local authorities, This is what is totally wrong with the sport in this country, we don't invest enough money into it, l happen to be a referee, and some of the grounds that l have attended, have been totally s+++. and yet the clubs have to pay somewhere in the region of £80.00 for each game, so where does this money go, l have seen some brilliant Sunday morning games, that would grace Wembley, and yet, this is where money should be spent too improve the facilities, but at the moment there isn't any, Parky spoke from his heart, and my god, it hit on some spots, are you listening Labour.

Lol or rather than on sport, stupid statistical tests and overpriced 'artwork' in town centers... they could try actually sorting out real problems like the thousands of homeless and strugglin' folk in our country
Nvm that'd just be plain silly

I agree with that. I'm sure an investment in sports facilities would reduce crime. And childhood obesity. I'm also sure quite a few MPs are aware of this, but for some reason they don't have the spine to do something about it.

Re: Parkinson For Prime Minister
Hi KungfuKitty, l agree entirely with what you are saying, l am not saying for one minute, that we should invest millions into sport, but we have to start from grass root level, to produce stars such as another Henman in tennis, or another big star boxer, years ago when l was a kid, there used to be loads of boxing clubs around, that produced some brilliant boxers, which would keep kids off the street, this country has many brilliant stars who could become great, such as the young swimming kid that was in the papers recently, but they should not have to worry about raising the money, like some do, this country has got some great sports, stadium, but we don't have the young stars, there, as this country are not putting the money into the sport, they are depending on charities of sport to do it, which not should happen, as for your comment about the homeless, and other people who need support, this country does not give a damn about them, l should run for PM, as l would almost certainly, tell the government what l think, and what l would do, l almost certainly would not pay them the wages, that they would get, as poloticans, don't deserve that amount, it was in the papers today, that John Prescott, is going to get clobbered for £3.320 for cleaning up his flat, why, couldn't he clean it himself,.

I can understand the result in putting money into sport / inturn keeping kids with something good to do and starting on 'the right track' so to speak Couldn't agree more there.. just... there's alot more urgent matters to attend to like the current hardships many of our people are going through that needs to be tackled first!

Sadly couldn't be more true not only by the gov but your typical person in the street, walking passed say a young homeless girl.. with total ignorance just so they can get in M&S a little quicker as i experienced in the week... i mean really.. wtf...
Anyway i'll stop my rant now, just a touchy subject for me...

Re: Parkinson For Prime Minister
Hi Kungfukitty, Just a minor point, on what you mention about ' walking passed a homeless girl', there is a sad section to this subject, and don't get me wrong, when l say this, in London, where we have a large amount of homeless people, and beggars on our streets, 'are' they really homeless, we had a big court case, many years ago, where a guy, was arrested for begging, claiming he was homeless, and when he was taken back to the nick, even though 'he'claimed he was homeless, he wasn't, he turned out to be a city businessman, who left his car in an Essex car park, changed into scruffy clothes, saying that he could get more PER DAY begging, then he could do WORKING, sad to say 'we' have to decide, is the person genuine, to be homeless, l have been on a train, when they have got onto a train, begging for money, claiming they were homeless, the only person, l would give money too, would be those 'licenced' with The Big Issue, newspaper, who do such a brilliant job for the needy, and this is an organisation who should get government funding - i'll be PM one day.

How much of a scumbag do you have to be to result to doing something like that personally a couple of quid out me pocket to help somebody less well off (dont get me wrong im far from rich lol) is fine by me.. i would hope that the ****ers that do this wouldn't put people off helping others out. I guess the safe bet like you said are helping out those which sell The Big Issue just a shame it comes to that
Anyway sorry for going a little with your thread mate

Re: Parkinson For Prime Minister
Hi Kungfukitty, you don't have to say sorry, for going off subject, l have always said, say what is on your mind, you are entitled to it, years ago, l worked for a company that dealt with cleaning of premises of the homeless, ie hostels, so l know what they went through and in todays movement, the way the government treat the homeless and needy, is appalling, we mustn't forget the Sally Army, who do a a good job, but don't get the recognititon they fully deserve. l also have a belief, that ALL the empty buildings in Central London, should be opened to all the homeless, until such time, they are sold, then they would move onto the next building, some buildings remain empty for years, and it is cheaper to run the amities in these buildings, than cut it off, therefore waisting all the heating etc., and before fellow members, tell me to get off my soap box, it is about time the government pulled its finger from its a++, and did something for the people of this country, did you know that if you stopped the wages for one pen pushing MP in parliment, for a year, it would pay the wages of TWO nurses for a year.
