People have been told not to take timber that has come ashore after falling off a cargo ship which later sank.

No doubt a few planks will try and take some as well!

If they're going to contact them via phone will it have to be a trunk call?
Personally, I think they're barking up the wrong tree - they should just let people take what they need, that way the beaches get cleaned up more quickly.

Why not let the people take timber? It would save a fortune on the clearing up costs, fair enough it's been soaked in salt water but if dried correctly it could be put to some use.
