Paedophile released by mistake!
http://itn.co.uk/news/693eaad029aca5...50b435ddb.html
Hmmm.. I imagine there's some very red faces around S. Yorks. Police HQ right now!
Still at least this scumbag's picture is now all over the media.

Someone's going to get their wrists slapped; surely they insist on proof of identity, then check their databases for fingerprints/conviction records etc, or is that being too simplistic/niave?

I believe that another force has arrested him, according to tonights main news, what they should have done, was shot him, l am sure there would have been a queue to pull the trigger.

Tell me bbking, those who pulled the trigger, do you think they thought "oh lets just shoot an electrician today" or did they think "we believe this guy is a threat and likely to have a bomb on him"

No they'll just try to ensure he gets compensated at some point.

Well you see it's easy to have a go at such people when the nearest you get to danger is having your copy of the Guardian spontaneously combust.

Well fingerprints aren't the only proof of identity. He was printed but released before the results came back. If someone is intent on evading the Police it can be done fairly easily.

Oh purlease - it was a colossal cockup involving poor organisation, poor communication, poor lines of control, poor planning and poor execution, you know it. I think I've previously made it clear enough that I think the blame lies a lot higher up than the ARU, namely with those whose lack of professionalism puts the people of London at risk (why did the gun squad take five hours to get there? What if it *had* been a real bomber?) and who think that it's more important to smear the dead than own up to their own failings. Stop erecting straw men, Xac. Really. Tchah. Read these:
http://yorkshire-ranter.blogspot.com...-response.html
http://yorkshire-ranter.blogspot.com...ropolitan.html
and tell me that the correct response isn't to take the royal ****, given that absolutely nothing else seems possible to force those responsible to face the consequences. Still, at least Hayman's gone, brought down by his own ego and hubris.

Like I said, you're trivialising the decisions made by those involved in an attempt not to bring them to order, but to mock them.
