Ikea pillocks

Linkage If you watch the video you'll notice a toddler being passed to a security guard from out of the crush.

Bear in mind this was at midnight - what on earth were the parents thinking?!

All for a cheap sofa which will look nice for 12 months, then start falling apart.

Re: Ikea pillocks

LOL you should have seen the roads that night, they were parking on the A406 ringroad and walking to the store. Bedlam. Ikea were at fault to a point but you can never fully plan for the absolute stupidity of some members of the general public.
Yes poorer members of the local community would have been gagging for the chance of some cheap furniture but a lot of the problems that night were due to people who could have afforded to pay the proper price but didn't want to.

Re: Ikea pillocks

Ikea Leeds becomes an ankle biter theme park on Saturdays - the parents just throw the kids in the door and let them get on with it. When the shopping is done, a Tannoy goes out for the "missing" brat. They must cause thousands of pounds worth of damage, not to mention annoying the hell out of normal, single customers. Some evenings it's pretty bad too - have to know the shortcuts between sections so you can get round faster.

Re: Ikea pillocks

I work about 1/2 mile away from this Ikea store and having seen the "clientele" in the area then I'm not surprised there was almost a riot, I try and avoid it mainly for the reasons our greencreeper suggested

Is that the one where someone was shot on the opening night?
