Re: How is this allowed to happen?

This is wrong. We need proper border control in the same way places like Australia have.

Feel for the kids though.

Well said. Proper border control is as much for the immigrant's safety as our own.

Re: How is this allowed to happen?

I just wish we could have a debate about immigration and border controls without being labled 'racist'. Its time people realised we (the UK) only have a finate resource (space and money). The UK has benefited from immigration, and I feel our society as a whole is all the more better for it. We must still take in those who need our protection, who flee persecution, but those coming to the UK for economic reasons we need to be stricter with. While it is unfortunate, I see no other way.

You can and many people do. The 'racist' thing is mostly made up by racists who try to hide behind 'immigration' concerns.

i know it's not the childrens fault but what they should do is either drive to the Romainian Embassy and drop them off their or just put them on a plane home

it's cheaper than us spending out own tax payers money on them

Re: How is this allowed to happen?

What I find crazy is that it has taken the government this long to realise that we need to have tougher schemes in place like in Australia.
They only said that about a month ago and when I heard that I thought about blooming time. They left it far too long.

Re: How is this allowed to happen?

there are a few things i never understand about these things though

we keep reading that these people, and i'm talking about grown ups too not just kids, spend thousands of pounds to pay to get into Britain but where do they get that money from in the first place ?

would anyone really spend that sort of money to go all the way to England just on the off chance that they might be given a free house by the government ?

what sort of parent would send their kids off on their own like this when anything could happen to them on the way ?

the kids should be returned to the embassy of the country they are from and let them deal with them

You work the costs off.
The trafficers get slave labour which they can use and abuse, the trafficee gets sold the idea that life will be great in another country.

It won't make any difference with Romanians because Romania is a member of the EU. The government's new tougher stance even with non-EU states could be just talk. Politicians are good at that, and at manipulating stats of course.

The Maastricht Treaty (1992) gave all EU members' citizens the right to "circulate and reside freely in the Community".
