Maiko Kawakami appeared on a TV talk show with snaps of her pet, and admitted she wondered why it "didn't bark and refused to eat dog food". She was soon set straight - her dog was in fact a sheep.

I have to admit, I had to laugh..

Re: 2,000 Japanese buy "poodles" only to discover they are sheep.
The mind boggles.
It doesn't take long for a lamb to get to full size, I have friends and relatives living in Tokyo and their apartments and houses are not built on the generous side.
I suspect the validity of the report though, If not fed properly the lambs would become ill very quickly and, having paid £630.00 for it, I can't believe that their owners wouldn't seek the advise of a Vet.
If he couldn't tell the difference between a poodle and a lamb ewe'd think he would have been baaaaaaaared from practising.

Hmm, if I got hold of a load of rats, do you think I'd be able to sell any in Japan as Terriers?

At least when they are finished with the fashion trip they can eat it...on second thoughts they do if it was a dog aswell.
