Poll: What percentage of the UK population are immigrants?

I suppose that defines how you mean immigrants - and how you're counting! Assuming you mean people who weren't born here I'd guess 11%.

If there are any original Roman immigrants left here, I want to talk to them! They'd be a bit smelly after 2000 or so years, though.

Planet?? You mean Scotland?? 
As for Immigrants, do you mean migrant workers IE only staying for a short time, or those looking to settle here?
I voted 11 percent but, if you inlude the Poles and Slovake builders I would have to say 20 percent maybe more.
We frequent a cafe in leafy Surrey, it has 20 tables in it. On a friday morning 5 of those tables are full of eastern euro builders, if thats snap-shot of the country, then its about 20 percent
Got to ask, why the poll??
