Charles Cancels Skiing Trip
Was reading in the paper at the weekend that Prince Charles has cancelled his skiing trip in order to reduce Carbon Emmissions as a result of criticism received when he flew to New York to collect a green award.
So it has nothing to do with the fact that both of his sons have other commitments and there's no snow!!

Re: Charles Cancels Skiing Trip
I'm sure he's been skiing without the boys before, after all, he's got a new wife to keep him company, and if you've got the ability, you can go to where the snow is.
Come on, most people rib him for talking to his plants and beeing a green Prince, who runs vehicles on veg oil so it's a bit blatant that he is into enviromental protection.

Re: Charles Cancels Skiing Trip
Aren't the boys a bit busy in the Army n'all? Surely you can't go to your CO and ask for a weekend off to go skiiing? Possibly you can if you're in line to the throne, but surely the Army takes you skiing anyway? Ready for the day when Tony Blair invades Norway.
Anyway, if Charlie's bothered about his carbon footprint, he can come with us on the Eurostar in March. He'd have to bring his own beer though.

You're taking beer to Europe (or is it just for consumption whilst en-route)?
Going anywhere nice?

Re: Charles Cancels Skiing Trip
8 hour trip on a train with a bunch of mates, I think a few beers is definitely called for. We've had bad experiences in the past on the non-Eurostar snow train with Baileys and gin/tonic, so sticking to beer and whisky might be a better bet.
Going to Meribel - the nice thing about the train is that although it's about £60 more, it leaves at a reasonable time from a reasonable place (mind you, I live £3 and half an hour from Waterloo) and you get an extra half days' skiing and it's only 15 minutes transfer from the station to resort, as opposed to a couple of hours in a bus. Much more civilised.
