Graham Norton and drug use
Quote:

The BBC has defended Graham Norton after he admitted in an interview he had tried "loads of drugs".

The TV star, who hosts the BBC's Strictly Dance Fever and Graham Norton's Bigger Picture, also described ecstasy as "just fantastic".
|
The BBC has backed him up..............strange ?
He should be dismissed without further ado imo

Re: Graham Norton
I think he is sailing close to the wind and if he isn't carefully he will find himself out of work soon

Re: Graham Norton
I think he's deliberately doing this to try to get himself out of his BBC contract. that's why they wont sack him.

Re: Graham Norton
Graham Norton's honesty about his dabbles with drugs are not any business of the BBC, unless they have reason to believe he is 'affected' while working for them, in my opinion.
I didn't get the impression he spends his whole life wrecked, so it is not a 'recommendation', per se, the suggestion that ecstacy is actually nice to take I cannot comment on, having not taken any, myself - it actually sounded like he did it only once?

Re: Graham Norton
It reminds me of one of the Gallagher brothers who said 'If drugs don't work then you're taking the wrong ****ing ones'
So what if he said this, I think a huge proportion of celebrities have taken drugs but won't admit it. I wouldn't be bothered if he gets sacked from the BBC anyway, his dry, witty adult sexual humour is wasted there on those crappy dance programs, he should be back on channel four on 'So Graham Norton' or something.

I am surprised by your reply Gaz I must admit, even though his comments may or may not have been about the subject of the programme, he should have kept them to himself. Broadcasting to the nation that

ecstasy as "just fantastic".

with whoever watching is just not on.
Some of the watching audience are vunerable, especially the younger generation who might take heed of what he says. TBH, this is disgusting so called broadcast entertainment, plus the fact he has admitted taking "loads of drugs", I for one one do not want to indirectly fund his habit through the licence fee either.
He should be sacked, end of story

I think the story is bloke in showbiz says he took loads, and commenting on one of them being great. Not smart...

nothing about taking drugs is 'smart', however I thought he was honest to say he liked the effect of one of the drugs he had taken, though, it may have backfired???

Re: Graham Norton
He added: "I've tried loads of drugs, but it would really bug me if I got busted in the tabloids because I take them so rarely."
Reading quickly through that article, I thought it was only in the past that he took them, but according to that statement above, he still takes them.

See - that's the sort of bad example we are talking about. Younger, more easily influenced members of the CF will think it's "cool" and "street" to drink, and then they will look to hbtm as a role model, and start dabbling in other things that may offend the more strait-laced members of the CF, and before you know it, they will be involved in radical thinking, standing up for minorities, and other commie/pinko activities.
It'll end in tears, you mark my words!
