007 numbers

Not sure if i'm in the right department but, after i went to bed earlier the phone rang twice, on the second one the wife got up and done a 1471 to check who had phoned, it was a number starting 007, but being a novice on scam calls my wife did a 14713 redial, no answer i'm worried that the number has now been confirmed the number dialed is active are we in for some sort of invasion of reverse prem calling?

I've looked on google it seems like a Thialand number.

Re: 007 numbers

00 7 ..... would be a Russian telephone number mate.

If you have the rest of the number you can tell which city or region it's from, this might of some use to help you find out, for example: 095 - Moscow City, 096 - Moscow Regional.

I wouldn't worry about it, prolly just a misdial.

Re: 007 numbers

I would say that f you are really concerned call BT or NTL (whoever you are with) and seek advice.

I had a call recently that when I answered it it said 'congratulations you have won...' and then I hung up. I called BT and they confirmed I had not been charged anything unusual.

Call them to put your mind at rest.

Hope that helps.
