Re: London 2012
Personally I hope we don't get it - and I hope the lousy transport infrastructure is listed as a major reason why not.
Perhaps then they might learn that the best thing to do is get the decent transport system in place and then try and get the games.

Re: London 2012
I want London to win. Its about time we got something in this country.
It would increase tourisn here and really be something fun for England.
It will put us back on the map and I think we deserve it.
France have already had their moment of fame hosting the World Cup so lets give England a chance now.

We'd probably get it all back, and as a byproduct, get loads of brand new facilities.
I am supporting it because:
1. We might end up with some public transport that surpasses tolerable
2. It will bring loads of money.
3. We'll beat the french at something

And Mr Livingstone said that meant the extra council tax cost would be 38p per week for a Band D household for 10 years.
He said: "You cannot even buy a Walnut Whip for 38p a week, and if you ask me what the public want, I think they will want an Olympic Games for that price."

This is not about the Olympic bid (it won't affect me), but it really gets on my nerves when people try to make a sum of money look tiny by expressing it as pence per week. Who do you think you are kidding? 38p per week for 10 years is £200.
Be a man, and say it FFS...
