It's a cheek to call it the 'London' Olympics when they're going as far afield as Swansea for swimming!
Funny how they don't consider Wales part of London most other times.

It's just the way the Olympics is run. Footy tournaments are awarded to a host nation, but the Olympics go to a host city. I suppose that's the IOC's perogative. However it's this country's perogative now, to spread the wealth as far around the UK as possible. This is a chance for us to see whether we are capable of doing things as a complete nation or if the old cliches about the myopic Southeast are true.

Without wishing to drag this off topic, Wales is as valid a nation as England - only with better rugby players
Going back to the subject however, I'm sure we will benefit from the games - during Euro 96 tourism levels increased impressively.

OK it's off topic but I just want to wind Russ up.
Wales has been annexed by England since before the Vikings, well before. In fact I don't (I'm sure you'll tell me if I'm wrong) think that Wales has actually ever had it's own king/queen. If it did it was so far back in history it was probably when England itself had two or three regional monarchs.
Wales has certainly never had its own parliament. Wales' claim to be a nation is as valid as Cornwall calling for independance.
Scotland, however is different as it has been a separate country with its own head of state and parliament in recent history.

Perhaps one of us should open a new thread, then you can dissect his innacuracies to your heart's content

Yes, we can argue about this elsewhere
No more off-topics please......this should be about our gloating over other countries, in particular France and America

You have to feel sorry for them.
Also "And over there is a lovely London restaurant (now considered to be some of the best in the world) where you can enjoy some of our lovely roast beef!!! ". " So much better than French horse flesh covered in a sauce so as to make it palatable".
Edit (Paul) - size reduced, we are not blind you know !

Re: London 2012
Perhaps they could design some of the running tracks so they spell "Up yours Paris" from the air..

Hmmm! I would like to see some of that fair play we British are supposed to exhibit so well.Crowing over the loser is such an American or Australian sort of behaviour.
So can we try and be good winners? Please?Pretty, pretty please?
