Re: Killed for a parking space!

I would defend my family to the death but a parking space nahhh i'd give it to them and then let there tyres down.

seriously even on the school run i get evil looks and when i ask i get " thats my spot i park there every morning".
they all need to be there 2 mins faster than you park 50 ft closer to the supermarket than you .
they should all chill out and be more courtious just think about it.. you have the space .. no you have it... i said it first.. so what? are you starting trouble

Passing sentence, Lady Dorrian told McMillan: "This is a tragic case in which your irresponsible and unbridled actions led to the death of an innocent woman.
"That is something that you will have to live with for the rest of your life.
"You were not to know that Mrs Whittle suffered from an undiagnosed heart condition which was destabilised by the physical and mental stress caused by your attack on her."
"Your actions were unprovoked and even without the underlying condition this would have been a nasty assault resulting in deep bruising and abrasions."

Two things:

  1. Those of you going on about the law being daft: remember that this is a Scottish case. Law in England & Wales (and in N. Ireland) is different. Though I don't know if the result would have been different or not.
  2. I'm not an expert on this kind of thing, but my understanding was that in English & Welsh law you 'take your victim as he comes', including any medical condition. I may be wrong in that though. Got your law books to hand BlueRaja?
