Am I the only one who gets just a little sickened by america's obsession with the notion of 'freedom'?

When you build a nation around a fundamental principal you can easily be seen as obsessive about it

Looks like it, if that was the Uk it would have a cheap garden put into it, with a newspaper stand, and a statue made from tin cans.
That tower is one big middle finger to the morons who did 9/11.
( yes i lost someone in it and I am proud and will visit this tower once done )

I would rather sit down and enjoy a fry up meal american style, then sit in fear without any comforts not knowing if someone is going to open fire on my house.
I call America free its just how you see "free" in your mind.

I do not see the problem the US of A has licenses like it, and they are mainly a form of ID.
To be honest when we are all wearing GPS tags under our skin, and can be tracked by a satellite who will fine us £1 for farting in the wrong section of the city, then I shall consider it a problem.

If they ever get round to building it.....This project has been changed so many times now, & has had so many arguments about what to build & how to build it...

Re: NY unveils revised Freedom Tower
Personally I would build a finger with two of them aimed at the Arab countries.
I agree though but aint most of the delays been security and issues regarding the durability of the building incase extremists try again?

I don't think that would be a particularly good idea....

Some of it was due to that, but also:

A lower insurance payout on the Twin Towers than had been expected by the leaseholder further complicated the project.
And victims' relatives argued that construction would damage the foundations of the Twin Towers, which they regard a piece of American history.

I think there were other problems too.

Heh, obviously you havn't seen much of America then?
You can't just blame all the arab countries for the actions of a terrorist group, just cause they all look similiar.

Re: NY unveils revised Freedom Tower
So if America is wrong for being as they are, the UK is wrong for being as it is with ID cards etc here, the Arabs are wrong for being terrorist states.
Then could someone enlighten me as to what is right.
