Lotus for Sale... 50p
BBC
Quote:
A Birmingham radio DJ discovered hell hath no fury like a woman scorned after his wife sold his £25,000 luxury sports car on the internet for 50p.
Tim Shaw's wife, Hayley, put the Lotus Espirit Turbo on eBay after her husband propositioned glamour model Jodie Marsh live on-air on his Kerrang! FM show.
Mrs Shaw, 27, said the flirtatious interview had been the "last straw" in their relationship.
The car sold within minutes of it being posted on the internet site.
Mr Shaw upset his wife when he announced over the air that he would leave her and their two young children for Ms Marsh.

Jodie Marsh? I'd rather have the car thanks

Re: Lotus for Sale... 50p
I doubt that they will have to hand it over. If the car is registered in his name then it wasnt hers to sell

Re: Lotus for Sale... 50p
registered keeper, on the DVLA certificates is not proof of ownership.
If they are married, all property is joint, unless it is proven otherwise. I think that the sale would be binding, even if not very equitable. Of course in any divorce settlement the wife might find her little laugh backfires as the frivolous abandonment of joint assets should, I hope reduce her setlement (but no doubt the law doesn't work like that).

Re: Lotus for Sale... 50p
But if the car is jointly owned, how can she sell the DJ's half without his consent? I hope she gets charged with theft.
I think with her new found 50p, she should also try and buy herself a sense of humour.

Well it sounds as though he has spent a few years upsetting his wife with various remarks on the show and some of his antics have been a little naughty by what is in the article. Maybe she has just had enough of his behaviour.

Bit harsh that..
I haven't heard the show, but if my other half were openly flirting with somebody on air, I'd have something to say. Yes, I do know that flirting doesn't necessarily lead anywhere.

Re: Lotus for Sale... 50p
I sympathise with her - he sounds as if he could be my ex's twin borther!
Although when I came to breaking point all I did was to tip a pint of beer over his head at our New Year's Eve party with all his friends in attendance. They all cheered as a lot of them had seen what was going on over the years.
I'd never sell a car like that though - not while I have a license!

Sounds to me like she has had a lot to put up with so I don't blame her at all

Apparently, he proposed to her saying that he would leave his wife and kids if she accepted........

Re: Lotus for Sale... 50p
Fair enough, if he is being out of order, then leave him. Selling his car from him was out of order IMO. It is spiteful, malicious, and also petty and childish.
