I think the training will be good for him, if he gets the same treatment as anyone else..... But once he has completed training, regardless of rank / title he will become an Army god!!!

The British Army turned 1/4 of the world pink while commanded by none-too-bright toffs, so there's nothing new there.

Re: Prince Harry (Army)

Has anyone else thought it is a bit weird, how he needs a crack team of minders whenever he wants to wander around getting drunk, in case anyone wants to kill him, but he's apparently allowed to join the army where he could eventually end up meeting people that will be paid to kill him?

I don't suppose for one minute he'll end up in Iraq (or even guarding Buck Palace as his brigade is supposed to), his mummy will see to that, I am sure, but if he does... Will he have his usual protection team of ex-SAS officers to protect him? I could just imagine him in Iraq... There's a few of his colleagues with no armour, forced to beast it through the desert, with little/no armour, water, supplies, weapons, etc (thanx to much underfunding), but he'll end up getting his own Bradley armoured fighting vehicle (or whatever the British equivilent is), and his 6 man SAS escort.

It's a sham. If he is going to pretend he is a regular guy, then he should at least pick some job that he can actually do properly.

Although that fiasco, the Crimean War, did convince them that reform was finally needed. The Gilbert & Sullivan song that includes the words "The very model of a modern major general" was a lampoon on the new, reformed type of officer.

I'd be surprised, last time I checked she was dead! Do the royals get special powers when they die so they can command people from beyond the grave?
