Anything specific or just any old conference? Do you have a restricted area that you will travel to or will you go anywhere to listen to anything?

Read Nostradamus maybe? He was rumoured to be good at predicting word events..

Actually, I know of a couple of word events. We have the World Cup coming up in the next couple of years. Pretty sure there will be another Olympics as well..

I don't think there is one website that will do that.
Some good starting places would be the UN website ( http://www.un.org) and the websites for the various charities.

That's still a bit vague. As I said in my post above, no one website will cover that subject. The UN one I posted probably comes closest, but what you have asked is too wide a subject (it's actually like going into a department store and asking if they have anything for sale, then asking the assistant for recommendations for what to buy, without specifying the type of item you want).
If you can specify a specific subject or area you are interested in, we can help.
Also, saying something is important is not much help. What's important to some people may not be important to other people (for instance, our General Election is important to us, but not to any of the population of Africa).

How about greenpeace and other sites like amnesty international?
Scastle's right, you need to help us narrow it down, otherwise there's huge amounts of organisations you can contact to find out what they're up to and what's going on.

Well call me paranoid but we should really be asking why he wants to know, otherwise we could all be up before the magistrate on charges of aiding a terrorist
I'd go with scastle's UN suggestion - should have links to all the various organisations and bodies that are creaming money for lavish dinners and tarts. I know there will be links to CITES and related organisations.
