The school I'm presently in was placed on the failing schools register at one point. It was removed after being turned around and two years ago received a Most Improved School financial award.A bad school doesn't have to stay that way..All it needs is an excellent head teacher and willing school governers.

Re: This Country...
Why should people posting an opinion get badly repped for voicing what could possibly be the same as most people think?
If somebody broke into my house and i caught them, they would go out of the upstairs window. Fact.
If somebody did harm to me or a member of my family, I WILL DO TIME FOR MY ACTIONS. Fact.
If the Government in this country cared, i would not have these standards. Fact.
The courts don`t give a **** about us so, if something happens, ie:the above circumstances, I will act and i will take the law into my own hands.
I don`t care about what people think of me because i care for my Family and my Property as stated in previous posts.
You want to do the crime, Bear the consequences.

Some people do not like to be said they are wrong or insist there opinion is final. Sadly they forget this is a forum of debate and go OTT agaisnt anyone slamming there point into every poster and if they wont buckle they redrep.
On topic that is simply disgusting sorry to harp back to the olden days but didn't the cane when it was legal stop most of this, lets see back then teachers did not get raped, school kids didnt run into schools firing guns??
Now we have computer games which promote this ( grand theft auto i went to buy san andreas and kids was there with mommy buying it ) Games like this and tv programs of kids being rude as mentioned before in this thread, comply together to create a negative mentality to these kids, something has to be done as this generation of kids soon will be the one who have to find a job and cope and pull there weight for this country.
And with the children of today.
God and Goddess help us.

Agreeing with Andrew here.
Why the **** are people so against going back to the `Old` values in this country? when people and children were taught respect for others and respect for others property.
Nobody likes to be abused, either verbally or physically so why does society tolerate it nowadays?
I certainly won`t!

Look at it this way. The judge is quite possibly a homeowner. As are a large percentage of the Jurors (and the rest of the court staff). At the very least everyone in the court lives in a home. If a person is defending his or home against a burglar or intruder, who do you think they will find for? I'll give you a clue. It's the homeowner.

I don't want to start a debate on repping (we've had enough of those), but people ARE entitled to disagree, and red-repping is one way of expressing that.

Perhaps you could do your bit and report the shop that was selling San Andreas to a minor to your local trading standards authority? While certification is NOT a legal requirement on games as it is with Videos, if a game has a certificate, it IS legally binding, IE 18 rated games are considered the same as 18 rated videos and it is therefore an offence for a shop to sell one to a kid. Unless Mummy was buying it for her kids, in which case, Mummy should take notice of the rating and refuse to buy it.

Russ, look at this way. The way you phrased your post could have been taken as an insult (and obviosly was by someone). How would you have felt if I had made a sarcastic sounding comment about religious people in a religious thread? How would you have felt if I had assumed you would feel a certain way about something? You have argued with people (and possibly red repped although I wouldn't know that) for less. You've also been known to threaten bannings.

It was intended as tongue-in-cheek

I get that in EVERY religious thread, although not from yourself.

For what, disagreeing with me? Disagreeing with my faith? You show me where I've done that and I'll step down immediately.

OK. That last bit was a bit strong, but hopefully you got my meaning..
And, for the record, I took the comment as being tongue in cheek..

And I apologise if I sounded a bit harsh, it's just I cannot recall ever threatening someone with a banning for anything other than breaking forum rules

Re: This Country...
Record time??
While I think the old kind of punishment in schools helped keep the children under control, again treating violence and abuse nowadays with the agressive youth we have with violence such as a cane would not work.
Seeing as now unlike 1950 we are a country of video game lovers fast food and highly influenced by the gang ghetto culture of the American ganster movement a method of the good old cane would be a disaster awaiting to happen.
In talk a program on a while back about dad's army where they sent these people to be put through a 1915 style Army recuitment, this broke there lazy aggresive spirits and many of them was reformed so be it a few morons came out.
One move would be to perhaps put them in the Army this would train them in behaviour, aggresiveness, language ( i hate txt speak and chav talk ) and most of all some manners.
Now for minors why not a similar thing of course not as brutal because they are minors but enough to make sure they understand that the more they commit offenses, and the more they are abusive the longer they stay.
now I aint saying I am right nor am I saying this would work, but at the end of the day, sadly our culture created these people, and we have to deal with it.
Because in 20-30years who will?
