Re: Sign this please, fuel prices
I dont like the idea of giving my email address out to such an annonomous web site and I can't see anywhere indicating how many signatures there are or how to view them. Most on line petitions are a lot more professional.

i don't want to sound like a tree-hugging hippy but i don't think the government is doing anywhere near enough to discourage car use, or to improve public transport.

All the more reason to support it then.

I support the idea, but I also am not happy with the quality of the site and so will not be supplying my email either

Re: Sign this please, fuel prices
If I could find some sort of contact details (or, indeed a WHOIS record that didn't say "UKServers" was the owner of the domain name), I would be more inclined to give my email addy.
As it is, because there is no sign of who is in charge of the site (or even which country they are in, although it's on a London server according to VisualRoute), then I won't be sending them my email. It smells like a site to harvest emails for spam.

Hmm, along with a nice advert for 'safety' equipment because we all know that those speed traps use such high intensity lasers it's like the rebels escaping Hoth everytime you go for a drive.

Re: Sign this please, fuel prices
well I signed
- used my Gmail addy, so spam shouldn't be a problem, confirmation emails have come through really quickly.

I did actually try them and got an error. They've obviously fixed the error..

Re: Sign this please, fuel prices
The last fuel protests were driven (or not ) by big business and a lot of transport bosses were dressed in 'hard working driver' type clothes and preaching on the front line (on TV)....... After the protests they were back in their suits.. None of it was about the average car owner.
They, at the time, captured a wave of feeling growing in the public who on the whole thought they were doing the right thing.
The same strength of feeling is not there anymore and if it is then it certainly isn't about fuel prices.
