Scripted interviews are as bad or worse than eastenders

Paxman seems to be going a bit easy on Blair, especially compared to the roasting he game Charlie Kennedy the other day.
I know who he is voting for on may 5th then.

I have to agree with you, I think he gave Kennedy a much harder time than Blair.
I guess we will have to wait until Friday and have a vote to see who got off the lightest or vice versa...

Re: The Paxman Interviews - Blair
I think Blair did ok, Paxman was going hard on him. The war was a tricky one but asylum and immigration he did ok. Towards the end he was on easy street, especially on the full term issue. By the way Blair says we will serve the full term but does not say how long. Could a election be held in two/three years? That way he stands down, still has serverd a full term, and brown avoids are questions over his right to be there

Howard hasnt always gotten the best interviews, ITV the other day was a train-wreck. I am not sure what it is but interviews/media may not be his strong point

Re: The Paxman Interviews - Blair
Hmmm, I still think that Paxman could have pushed him harder though, I do hope that he is not melowing out over complaints that he is to harsh following Mondays interview with Kennedy.

I didn't see the interview with Howard, although I wish I did. Interviews (like a lot of things) aren't Howard's strong point.

Paxman would never do that...Also out of all the leaders Blair has got amazing skills in dealing with interviews, theres a reason he became so popular in 1997 and some of it was done to his media skills. Blair got questioned on the War, Asylum, Trust and Brown. His weakest points and he came out fairly easy. He didnt say anything we hadnt heard before and he avoided being trapped.
Kennedy and the Lib dems dont come under the same presure as Labour and Torys so maybe he wasnt as used to dealing with that type of interview. Howard should be intersting.

Good point, I just hope that the likes of Paxman, Humphreys and Naughtie dont go soft...
I did get the impression that Paxman was getting under his skin at one point and Blair was gonna lose his cool but he had good control and reeled it back in.
I think he still got off too easy towards the end though, even the gag about his fake tan...

Unfortunately not all at the same time though, whilst I appreciate that it would be slightly americanised it would however be a most interesting watching experience...

I can imagine the newspaper cartoons now, Blair with a lump on his back (i.e Bush) with a mic running to his ear and campbell in the background. Howard looking like a vampire and a head of a immigrant in his hands and Kennedy on the floor, with bottles of wiskey alll around him
