Goody. An old man. And a conservative tit at that.
He's really going sing the praises of condoms, isn't he? Great - nice work, fellas @ the Vatican.

Bit pointless having anything else, changing teachings to suit a flock would just undermine the religion itslef.
Either the flock needs to change its ideals or the flock needs to change its religion

Re: Breaking News : New Pope elected
That's just smashing. All that about a minority progressive pope, and they choose a super-conservative, ex-Hitler Youth German.
And they give him a name which signifies anti-war. Hmmm Let it not be said the Catholic church doesn't have a sense of humour.

Blimey, I didn't expect the German Inquisition.

German, Latin and Italian, presumably (since he's been in the Vatican for yonks). I'd be amazed if he didn't speak English. His Polish could do with some work, possibly.
78 - hardly a candidate for the long-term, is he?

That's a bit optimistic, I think. If these people can't afford decent food, water, and important posssessions, I doubt they'd be able spend money on decent Johnnies.

I thought they did, but I thought it wasn't enough? Can they afford to give enough to go around, and can it really reach people who don't live near big cities?
