radical muslims 'at it' again
Quote:
LONDON (Reuters) - Radical Islamists broke into a news conference held by moderate Muslims on Tuesday, denounced Prime Minister Tony Blair as Satan and urged Muslims to boycott next month's election.
Around 20 protesters, many wearing scarves to hide their faces, ripped a locked door off its hinges at one of London's main mosques and burst into the event organised by the country's main Islamic lobby group the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB).
They pushed their way to the front of the room, stood on chairs and shouted slogans against the MCB, Blair, Jews, Christians, apostates and the entire political system.

Re: radical muslims 'at it' again
Revoke their bloody passports and pack them off. I'm sick of this. Why stop at voting? I wish they'd urge each othet to boycott Britain altogether....

Re: radical muslims 'at it' again
Interesting difference in reporting the Guardian talks about 15 protestors and only 2 wearing masks I wasn't there so can't comment on the truth of it, probably somewhere in between (17.5 protestors?)

Who? It was only a small group of Muslims, protesting at a larger group of Muslims who want to get other Muslims involved in the democratic process.

I wouldn't agree with their views or actions (nor indeed the Jerry Springer Christian activists or the Birmingham Sikhs who closed down that play), but revoke their passports? If they are British citizens, which it looks, not sure you can remove a passport simply for demonstrating.
Of course if you think Muslim extremists should be deported over and above Christian extremists then it may be you have another agenda.

I suspect that the Guardian was downplaying what happened. Reuters doesn't have an agenda, just news reporting......

Oh no, I'm not discriminating. I'd like to see passports revoked from extremists from any and all religions, and have them removed. To Christmas Island or somewhere like that.

Re: radical muslims 'at it' again
Please Please Please Lets be careful where this goes. I do not want another topic about the rights of muslims or immigrants or any other faith. We are a society that has had many religions and i am proud of that
Anyhoo Back on topic....It strikes me how little protestors there where

Just one is too many IMO.
I'm not religious, and therefore am neither proud nor ashamed of what religions are in society. I'm fearful of what can happen when you've got crazies like these protesters roaming the streets. What about my rights to feel safe in the country I was born to and live in?

Channel 4 has 15 too: http://www.channel4.com/news/news_st...toryId=1901693
Scotsman has 'more than a dozen' http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=4422375
Evening Standard 15: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/l...source=PA&ct=5
Telegraph opts for 15 too: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...portaltop.html
Beeb doesn't get into the numbers game, but a good article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politi...ge/4461695.stm
So, maybe Reuters just can't count!

Agreed. We are talking a fringe minority.

I should point out that I do not wish to offend Christians or indeed any other faith followers, but just to make the point that every religion and society has its fringe elements. Islam is suffering in particular at the moment from misrepresentation because of undue focus on a small minority and their actions.
A final note, I find much to applaud the Christian churches moves of late to promote harmony and goodwill. Now, if only the Press and politicians would take heed!

Harmony and goodwill, I guess you could also say "Tolerance" as well. I think the big difference with some religions is their tolerance of other religions, some can accept that other religions or the non-religious have different views whilst other some religions want those with different views to burn in hell.
