Re: Charles to marry Camilla
Good - months of puffed up priggish imbeciles predicting civil war and the end of civilisation as we know it, just because two ugly people in love are getting married. Should be hugely entertaining.

There'll be arnachy in the monarchy - the Anglican church will never allow it (the reigning monarch is always the head of the Anglican church).

Re: Charles to marry Camilla
ITV said as soon as they announced it that she won't be queen or Princess of Wales. This came from insiders close to the couple apparently.
Me personally I couldn't give a monkey's about the whole thing. I actually have important things to deal with.

You're obviously extremely well informed about the state of mind of the General Synod, considering that in everything I've read and heard they do indeed allow divorcees to remarry in Church these days. It's inconceivable that this announcement (which after all includes the church they're getting married in) would have been made without the agreement of the head of the Church of England. Certainly some antique vicars will froth and kick up a fuss, but what are they going to do, throw cassocks at the bridal procession?
The alternative of course is that the next head of the C of E is living in sin with his bit of stuff, which is possibly a worse alternative.
Or as a more robust alternative they could hire someone to bump off Andrew Parker-Bowles - even the maddest vicar agrees that *Charles* can remarry, since his first marriage was ended by death.

Well it's good to see that after an apparent respite you're back to your usual polite self. The individual feelings of members is likely to be overridden by the Anglican church's public stance which is likely to be against a divorcee remarrying. However at the rate some faiths change their rules, anything is possible.

Re: Charles to marry Camilla
Where do I stand on this issue?? Well, if Prince Charles was so in love with this woman, why on earth did he not marry her in the seventies when they apparently were an item??
Apart from that, I don't really care if he marries her or not. The only reservation that I would have is that she should not be Queen. In fact, the best thing that Charles could do is step aside and allow William to become King when this time comes.

Re: Charles to marry Camilla
Well Prince Charles could always go the way of Edward and abdicate, I wouldn't put it past him either, personally, I say go for it, why shouldn't the man have a permanent partner just because of who he is ??

Gee - someone is getting married - so flipping what - it's hardly a rare event in the world.

Exactly, of course not having a Monarchy would solve all of these little problems
