Train Trouble

For all of you that live in an area served by MIDLAND MAINLINE, there is a strike on Sunday this weekend. Only just been announced, apparently its over a pay deal.

Thought it may be worth mentioning here as some of you may be planning on going Christmas shopping this weekend.

The advice is not to travel if possible or us another train operator, fine if you're travelling to London/Manchester/Sheffield, but if you're planning on a journey that is only operated by Midland Mainline then beware there will be limited bus replacements.

Glad we're only going to London for the day on Saturday!

I thought that they had to give a weeks notice on strikes The way things are around here you actually see the bus more often than the train, and if you are very lucky you will have known the station was shut for refurbishment/ track works before you walked down there
In London again Dell? Anyone would think you knew a few watering holes there

Hmmmm - I am travelling with them on Saturday - and again a week on Sunday, lets hope they don't strand me in Manchester Airport

Where you travelling from? Apparently other companies will accept their tickets (even promo ones).

Nottingham (funnily enough) lol

I am not bothered on Saturday - but when I land back Sunday week there is only 1 possible connection to get me home (unless the flight is early) so a night in Manchester may be on the cards if they are playing up again.

Thanks for the concern Plenty of hotels around if the trains are up the wall I suppose - and I am in no particular rush anyway.
