nice one asda :tu:
the story goes like this , approximately 11 1/2 months ago we got a 28" widescreen tv from asda , today it developed a fault where it would switch itself off for no reason , so i rings em up and asks what the score for an exchange is , no problem bring it down and we will sort it for you , so i load it up into the car and head off to there , got it swopped and got £40 refund as the current price was £40 cheaper and another years g'tee , cant be bad

Guessing it was the Schneider brand?
Nearly every time I go to ASDA there is always someone at customer services returning one of those televisions because there has been a fault with it! We have done it twice ourselves but we just exchanged it instead each time.
Seems like Schneider are a poor make but ASDA have a good customer service.

Nice when a customer wins one / gets the excellent service we deserve.

Re: nice one asda :tu:
Asda are great, imo. I bought some doughnuts there today, and whilst paying I noticed that the best before date had been incorrectly labelled 2nd Nov '04 instead of 2nd Dec '04. I made a passing comment to the checkout person that I hoped it was just a typo and that they really weren't a month out of date, at which point they called over their Customer Services representative, who confirmed they were freshly baked today and apologised profusely for any inconvenience. And to compensate for my distress (huh...?!?) they would let me have the doughnuts for free and also reimburse me the cost of the doughnuts.
It's the first time I've ever been paid for eating doughnuts in my life!

Re: nice one asda :tu:
Hopefully all ASDAs will be like this. ASDA has been bought up by Walmart and slowly changing one by one to Walmart management. What is good about it is Walmart are famous for their lienent returns policy. They'll even take back items without a receipt and out of the publicised 14 day return policy, at the store's discretion. They will even take back products that aren't even packed properly. I bought something I didn't like. I tried to put it all back together but it wasn't working, so I threw it all in bag and took it back and to my suprise they refunded me . Yes, actual refund not a credit note. They never charge a restocking fee either. I hope that ASDAs are becoming like that. Try CS like that at an english store. I returned something back to Argos once and the bloke ripped it all apart trying to find a place I might have opened it.
While I am at I ordered something from Amazon US. It arrived with a breakage in box. I went through the online exchange process on the website. I printed out a UPS shipping label for free (It appears UPS would even pick it up if I didn't live near a store). I was a bit worried about exchanging as it is limited edition and could sell out, but the sent me out a new one the same day as I was packing the broken one up to be sent. It doesn't look like I need to worry about refunds, as the invoice on the second item was $0.00. It doesn't look like they'll charge my shipping on the broken return. I hope I don't eat my words, but so far it kicks arse. Certainly kicks Dab's arse, where I had to pay for shipping back. Is it this good with Amazon UK? English CS really sucks.

Re: nice one asda :tu:
I had the same thing with a toaster last year, took it back for a exchange but didn't have the one in stock that I had so they gave me a better model which was £10 more at no extra charge.

Re: nice one asda :tu:
I've had exactly the same thing with my TV and video from Asda - I put a thread up a while ago about the fact thjat I got 10 quid back when the TV went on the fritz.
The video also developed some problems a couple of weeks ago (wouldn't record sound ), so I took it back. When we bought it a couple of years ago, it cost us £110 for a Sharp - the only one they had that wasn't Pacific was a Sanyo for 50, so they gave me the 60 quid back.
Big to Asda!

As an ASDA checkout operator I can safeley say that a lot of people have recieved thiers. There has been a lot of trouble with the storecard as I'd say about 1/5 of customers seem to think that its the same as the sainsburys nectar card or the old asda loyalty card. The same customers who it seems to me wherent listening in the first place seem to be the first to get into a strop about it.
