Re: nice one asda :tu:
I wished I brought the James Bond Box Set when ASDA were selling it for £90 - bargain, it £130 now . ASDA in Clapham Junction needs a kick up it's arse, the CS is appalling.

I was a bit worried about exchanging as it is limited edition and could sell out, but the sent me out a new one the same day as I was packing the broken one up to be sent. It doesn't look like I need to worry about refunds, as the invoice on the second item was $0.00. It doesn't look like they'll charge my shipping on the broken return. I hope I don't eat my words, but so far it kicks arse. Certainly kicks Dab's arse, where I had to pay for shipping back. Is it this good with Amazon UK? English CS really sucks.

On the few occasions that something has gone wrong with Amazon UK in our house, they acted quite well. They once accidentally sent out an order twice, and the second time an order was delayed by about a week (Amazon had said it had been shipped when it hadn't). In both cases Amazon replied to an e-mail within 24 hrs (on the weekend).
With the order that was delayed, my girlfriend had it sent via next-day delivery, and asked for a refund for the postage, as it had ultimately not arrived the next day. They refused to do that, since the item had been sent by next day delivery (it had just been sent later), but gave her a £5 credit to her account. Seeing the next day delivery was about £7 more than normal delivery, I thought it wasn't bad.

It is not just on here - I keep on reading about how Asda are great because they give you a replacement when your *** breaks down in lots of places. It just seems to me that there are lot of people with experience of Asda stuff breaking down and the customer care when it happens.
Maybe it is just the same few people that post in lots of places!

Re: nice one asda :tu:
I work at asda too and its fantastic to bring stuff back.
If your television "breaks" bring it back and get another new one and another years garentee. brilliant. Same with my digital camera. Brought it when it was £280.
Oh dear... it "broke". Took it back because it went down to £199.99 and exchanged and £80 refunded :p

And when it becomes too cost ineffective to refund like that and they become strict with re-stocking fees, we know who to go and thank, don't we Dan

I'm surprised he's got time to return items, after all he's SO busy with this scientific research into who's the laziest customers!

Re: nice one asda :tu:
There will always be abusers. They are talking about these guys who are ripping off BestBuy which is a big electronics chain out here. They go and buy something. Send off for the manufacturer's rebates (which sometimes can be very subtanial), take it back and get a refund minus a small amount on the restocking fee. Then they walk back in, buy it as "open box" at a big discount and then go flog it on Ebay. Great for them, but we are the ones that end up having to pay for it.
