Re: Holy Grail site 'found'
I think it would be interesting if they did crack the riddle.
If the riddle does reveal the location of the Holy Grail, it will be interesting to see the effect on modern religion. Assuming the Holy Grail is found, and proved to be the holy grail, it will have a massive impact on the world in general, and religion in particular.
On the other hand, it's entirely possible that the rumour is wrong, and all that is revealed is an interesting new recipe for bread...

Re: Holy Grail site 'found'
I don't think it would have any effect on Christianity to be honest. There'll always be people who are going to think it's a hoax.

I didn't know it was
It's an item of folklore, been chased for centuries, people will be attracted to that.

Isn't it supposed to be some kind of dish/cup that Jesus used at the Last Supper? (like you say ... folklore )

It isn't, except to Roman Catholicism, which is highly interested in religious relics.

That's the legend but I'm not so sure. Read The Da Vinci Code and you may see things differently
Whatever the grail is, if it indeed exists, I won't be too bothered. The only thing which worries me is if certain religious groups known for idolatry worship suddenly make it the centre of their lives.

Re: Holy Grail site 'found'
Christianity is a faith, observed by millions, for thousands of years. It's a belief system that people find comfort in.
By that token alone, it's not a hoax, people see it everyday. However the original basis of that religion will continually be questioned.
A hoax ... no definatley not.

Well, you're hardly in a position to criticise what with you making something you can't see, hear, touch or prove the centre of yours.

I'm not criticising anyone. However when the instruction manual specifically talks against idolatry worship yet some go on to do that very thing, I feel it's a cause for concern.
