Press at it AGAIN!!!
Basically they have taken the referee for the England/Portugals details, i.e. his e-mail address, telephone number etc and published them in the press.
They have also published pictures of his wife, house and car and completely voilated his privacy.
I can understand why some people might get smug and smile at this but its plainly wrong.
Why the hell is this allowed?

Re: Press at it AGAIN!!!
I can see why the press might be ****ed mind you, if i had my cynical hat on (and i do ) i would say that there may not be as many papers getting sold now that England are not in the tourney any more.
But to publish that guys details like that is, well, exactly what were coming to expect from these people i suppose.
It just sickens me to see it.

Re: Press at it AGAIN!!!
I hope he's talking to a lawer about the invasion of his privacy this has caused. With a bit of luck the papers responsible will be getting a hand delivered letter for a court apperance. I dont think any law firm approaced over a case like this would say no either. Think of the publicity, and name any firm/ lawer could make for themselves winning such a case.

I'm all for it. I have phoned him six times and emailed him twice. Each time I have threatened to sacrifice his first born.

you idiot!!
Are you going to do the same to Henman as he took advantage or several dodgy referee calls last night?
The tabloids should be fined big time for some of the things that the do.

Re: Press at it AGAIN!!!
Just a side note UEFA have ruled that the ref made the correct ruling so people are sending him this abuse when even UEFA said it was correct

[EDIT ... Offensive language removed]
I understand that it was a tongue in cheek comment, but no need for abusive posts
it was a toungue in cheek statement Some people really do need to take their head out of their @rse.

Re: Press at it AGAIN!!!
UEFA are the governing body they are in charge of euro 2004 and they review each ruling and say if it was good or bad it is a independent body, so no lackeys
Back on topic i think it is awful that the papers published his phone number and address. If he made the right choice is a matter open to debate but publishing his details is wrong people have been sending him abuse phoning the house every day and every night constantly. Even if the ref was wrong all he did was make a mistake. I hope they take the papers to court

Re: Press at it AGAIN!!!
This is utterly unacceptable behaviour by the press and I hope that the PCC gets off its collective backside and *seriously* rips them a new one for this childish behaviour.
And what message does it send to our children?
Forget "the referee's decision is final" it seems now the attitude is "if you don't like the referee's decision, take it out on his family!"
