Re: Tax payers money wasted?
Well, you could argue that have to give people a route to appeal, as sometimes (from my own experience in trying to move to the US), for one thing or other sometimes descisions aren't correctly made (intrepretting the law, for example) the first time.
What I would love to see though, is a cap, no, scratch that, a completely overhaul on the solicitors side of it, which is bleeding the country dry. You could say that if you pay soliicitors next to nothing, noone would defend the (alleged?) illegal immigrants, but you have a to draw a line somewhere. The system is just open to abuse, and the astonishing amount of money involved is hurting us all. I rememeber when someone uncovered that solicitors were bribing illegals, that acknowleged they had no right to remain, and were going to leave, to file with them, appeals that they know would fail, but were able to leech plenty of money in the form of costs and expenses. Also to this, the fruitless appeals system slows down the applications for everyone.
