McDonald's CEO dies...

...apparently from a heart attack.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2004Apr19.html

Not funny, I know, but I think there is some irony in the story.

Re: McDonald's CEO dies...

The biggest irony was that he brought in the new McDonald's healthy food range and then had a heart attack so the moral of the story is if you know what good for ya, don't change!!

An even bigger irony is that there are more calories in a McDonald's salad than there are in a Big Mac. If he started eating the salads to try to improve his diet, well ...

Poor man, and his poor family.

Nope, if you improve your whole lifestyle you might get to enjoy more calories, if you're doing something to burn them off. Sadly too many people don't take in the whole picture and think that taking 'the healthy option' at lunchtime is all they need to do.

Re: McDonald's CEO dies...

What amazed me is that an employee in such a role is highly likely to need exhaustive health screening regularly (as an insurance requirement). He had only been in the role 16 months, so probably had an ECG and all sorts of other tests upon employment / promotion just over a year ago and this was not picked up.

Sorry. It works for me but perhaps I've registered in the past - dunno.

You could try here and then drill down - it's under Business

or, of course, here too:

Re: McDonald's CEO dies...

Perhaps the pall bearers will be dressed up as Ronald McDonald? I think that would be a touching tribute.
