turns out its just theft so police not interested

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertain...lm/3638321.stm

"Reports in Monday's newspapers claimed he was robbed of his mobile phone and was treated for a minor head injury. "
But the Hollywood star told BBC Radio 4's Today programme he was conned by a man who asked if he could borrow his phone before running away with it.

"Police told BBC News Online they were initially looking for a black male suspect of around 19 years of age but were no longer pursuing the case. "That is the end of it from our point of view," said a Scotland Yard spokesman. "

Conned or robbed - is'nt it still a crime ....

lol theres always one

More to the point of the thread though, this is why insurance fraud is becoming so easy for people, they know if they just give thier product away to a friend (or sell it) they can claim it was stolen off them and then simply need to go get a crime number from thier police station as they know there is a 99% chance of not getting caught and a 100% chance of not getting caught after less than a day, because the police just dont seem to care, its understandible really unless assualt is involved though this man was treated for head injouries so was he assualted? and if he was then why isnt this still beeing followed up?

Errr...it's still a crime to run off with someone else's property though even if they let you borrow it.It is still theft. It's just that like all such crimes there is no way the police can follow it up.No clues,no where to go.

This is true though sadly this doesnt make it any less of an open & shut case by todays standards
