Air Cooler

Im looking to buy an air cooler for my room. It gets very very hot in here especially in the summer!

What i want to know is what do you people think of air coolers? Anyone got one? What are they like?

I like the look of this one http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...roductId=94208

Re: Air Cooler

They do cool the room down, but they can make it feel a bit damp due to their water use. Also watch out for them starting to smell a bit.

Tried that but to be honest, it makes it worse! I have to have my blinds drawn during the day as it get really hot!

Also, about the electricity thing. Theyre not the same as air con systems so they shouldnt take the same amount of lecky?

whats the spec on the one you were looking at , if you look at it then it will give you an idea of what it will cost

just being doing a bit of digging and you will be looking at less than 200 watts power consumption , plus i also noticed that you need to use them with a good supply of fresh air , i.e. doors and windows OPEN

Re: Air Cooler

We bought one from B&Q a couple of years ago for one of our small remote offices - it seemed to work quite well. I'm not sure if they still do them but I imagine they would.
