Personally I count 5 close friends who have lived with the guilt, self lothing and in some cases, self-destructive behavour that child sex abuse has left them with. So please dont give me the liberal line about vigalanties thanks.

Of course, if a few innocent people get attacked by the vigilantes that's ok, if they end up emotionally suffering for quite some time afterwards I suppose that is acceptable. Is it reasonable to expect people who cannot tell the difference between "paedophile" and "paediatrician" to organise a mob when they should be taking English classes? So please don`t give me the Daily Mail Island line about vigilantes, thanks.

Oh yes so easy to label me just because I can see where this thread will now be going.As a matter of fact when it comes to peadophiles I wish we could do drastic things to them BUT I feel I'm better than any peadophile so I would not stoop to their level.

and of course your previous comment is actually going to add to the discussion?It won't do anything to actually prevent anything or to solve anything.

What is needed is rational,logical thinking but instead we get kneejerk hang 'em,flog 'em and castrate them comments.This thread will now denigrate into the usual back and forth pingpong argument from the vigilantes, about how do gooders are to blame and those so called liberals who want to discuss this rationally.Seen it happen to just about every peadophile thread in every forum on every website I've ever been to.

I'm beginning to think it's a subject that just CAN'T be discussed anywhere.Shame because it means that we will NEVER be able to deal with the problem sensibly until we can discuss it in a rational adult manner.

I bought a house.
It was my first real home.
To help pay the bills I let a neighbour move in and rent a room as he'd just split up with his wife.
I thought they were friends.
He stopped paying rent, started avoiding me and making excuses, so I kicked him out.
In revenge he started telling people I was a paedophile.
My car was torched.
All the windows in my home were smashed.
I had threats that my home would be burnt to the ground.
My sister visited and her car was torched.
I found a convicted murderer ripping my fence down because I had dared to try and stop people breaking into my home.
I had large groups of kids, all under 10 shouting paedo while their parents stood by.
I was a wreck, I would walk around my home holding a dumbell bar incase anyone broke in or attacked.
Thankfully the police finally put someone effective in place and most of the problems stopped.
I sold my home.
Do you know how all of that feels?
To be accused of something so disgusting, to be driven out of your home, to be unable to do a damn thing about it.
