15 year old arrested for child pornography ?
can someone explain to me how a 15 year old girl who infact sent and posted pictures of herself over the internet, in various states of dresses and provocative incidents has been charged with:

somethings wrong here........
she posted pictures of herself no one forced her so why all the fuss with the cops, sure its underage but this is the internet and after all its about freedom of ones self ?

dissemination = distributing, if she was spreading pictures of herself as a minor, she is breaking the law.

I've often wondered about this, if you took pics of yourself at 14 naked "in hand" is that illegal?
Is this one of those strange legal situations like with 16 year olds being able to make love as long as they don't look? (can't look at porno's but can do the deed)
If a married couple of 16 year olds filmed themselves, would it be illegal for them to view the tape before they are 18?

All of these "victimless crimes" laws need to be repealed. And the laws concerning sex and pornography and age of consent too. It is just a big mess here in Canada.

Surely they police would have just been better to have brought it to the attention of her parents and let them deal with it?
Are these police likely to arrest someone who self harm's with a charge of assault? Or charge an attempted suicide with attempted murder?
Is this not a case of the state claiming rights over your body and dictacting what you can and can't do with it?
I bet if someone had coerced her into doing it then the police would not be arresting her.

Whilst I think what she did was probably pretty stupid, the charges that have been made against her are downright ludicrous!
Sexual abuse of children?? That's as sensible as the guys from Operation Spanner who were convicted of aiding and abetting assaults *on themselves*!
Frankly I think the Police in this case are going to come out looking more than a little ridiculous.

As she is a minor, why have the charges been bought against her & why have her parents not been bought to book?
(I'm not saying they knew, but they are legally responsible for her so would be the ones to be charged for something surely?).
