Take the cover(s) off and turn the machine on ... you should then get an idea where the noises are coming from.
If the PC is generally behaving itself, then it's likely to be a fan that's clogged or dirty.

Re: Help - PC Making funny noises
It'll either be as mentioned a clogged fan, or, a fan with knackered bearings, either a case or CPU fan, it could also be one of your hard drives bearings on the way out, it could also be the fan in your power supply. I wouldn't recommend taking that apart, the capacitors will hold the voltage even after the PC is switched off, and you could end up getting a nasty shock if you open it.

Re: Help - PC Making funny noises
IMHO it's just as likely to be the fan on his graphics card as it is to be a case/cpu/northbridge fan.. the generic gfx fans tend to be pretty pants..
Scooby, if it's possible tryturning the PC off, taking the side or back off the case and testing each fan by unplugging them one at a time and switching the PC back on.. as long as you only turn the PC on long enough to hear if there is a difference (a few seconds) you won't do it any damage.

if it's a standard 80mm case fan or 60mm CPU fan I have a few spares .. send me a PM with your postal address if you want one.
