Error messages in Internet Explorer
I am often getting messages such as the one attached and often Internet explorer just stops working and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to reboot the system, and any advice on what the problem couuld be would be great. I used to get a similar message - "IExeplore has caused an error in Kernel32.DLL or Unknown", but downloaded a patch from microsoft.com to fix it, don't know if this is related
Thanks in Advance
edit - forgot the attachement

Re: Error messages in Internet Explorer
I have no idea but it seems to me that it's caused by a browser extension of some sort.

Re: Error messages in Internet Explorer
I agree with Richard above that this looks like a problem with a browser extension or Browser Helper Object, either one that you have consciously installed, or a spyware one. Check out your PC for spyware.

I've ran Ad-aware, and not got it yet, although it can be pretty random. Will report back if it happens again.

Re: Error messages in Internet Explorer
I was going to suggest disabling "Third party browser extensions" via the Internet Options but I noticed that you use the Google toolbar, it would disable that as well.
Try downloading and running Spybot Search & Destroy instead of Adaware, it tends to be updated more often.
If that doesn't work then try out the browser in my sig, it has a Google Toolbar extension available.

Re: Error messages in Internet Explorer
I would say a lot of the problem is down to Windows ME, its not great at anything. I used it for a few weeks and it nearly killed me. Internet Explorer seemed to have a lot of problems, and more blue screens of death than ever. Windows ME is probably the worst operating sytsem ever made!! If you can get your hands on Windows 98 SE or Windows 2K it would be highly recommended!
Out of Interest.....what system are you using is it a HP?? Ive seen this before on HPs shipped with ME!

Re: Error messages in Internet Explorer
Well cheers for allt he advice, no error messages in IE since for a couple of days, though it still sometimes 'locks up' - the mouse still responds but clicking any linksdo not work. Sometimes I can close IE but then it will not reopen (I just get an egg timer for the mouse icon) other times it will not close. In any case it needs a restart. Jjust there I got a similar message, this time in MSN messenger. I tried to access the technical details but they are very long and cannot be copied and pasted so I'll give you the most informative screenshot I could get
Chris
ps Richard M - I actually tried Mozilla, but the exact same problem occured
pps themelon - yeah I know it's a pretty rubbish OS, do you think 98SE is beter? (XP's still a tad expensive ) Unfortunately it's not even an HP, it's a Time *sigh*

Everything about this smells like a malware take-over of part of your networking stack.
