Folder Copy
ello all,
I have a need to copy a folder to another drive every night so i have a copy of this folder, i would like to only copy files that changed that day.
i was wondering if anyone could suggets some software that does this.
using backup software would be one way but that will put it in its own bakcupfile and i dont want that (i already have that) i would just like a copy of the folder and files...
the software needs to be able to run on windows 2000/xp/2003

Re: Folder Copy
Seem to recall the the "Briefcase" in Windows can be used to do this and can also be set to only check for new/amended files. No idea how it would need to be set up but worth a look if you can't find another way.

Re: Folder Copy
mehul's backup will do this easily & freely.
The info needed to register it are :
N TEMPORARY
P MBACKUP11
(these are freely available, however the program is no longer supported despite working very well, on XP too).
It allows you to have a copy of specified folders or files, either as a backup or syncronised.

Re: Folder Copy

What can I say, "Life's a batch"! and no, i don't use em that much, just for things such as file lists, when running VB proggies.

Lol sorry, it's just that batch files can't compete in power with a *nix shell script. It's not a judgement on windows, just that it's more suited for gui stuff
