Are you working on Predictor as well?
I'd switch all of your resources to their project if you are then at least your computer is doing something whilst SETI fixes their problems.

No! I have WU's to upload for Seti. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/ is offline again for 'maintenance'.
Already disconnected from the network as it's a waste of time.
Incog.

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
It does look as though SETI is still in beta stages - all these bugs they keep finding should have been found long before it went live. The latest cockup means that completed results will have to be sent out again and the three people who should have got credit for completing the result/WU won't get credit Just not good enough.

Strange how Predictor doesn't have all of these problems.

I know. Have a look at their news archive - the quality of the posts and how sincerely they apologise for errors. Far better than at SETI, who I think have an arrogant disregard for users. Treat us like lab rats - like it or lump, no apologies, the science matters not the credit...

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
I'm in two minds whether to continue with SETI and opt for the new Einstein project when they finally get themselves up and running.

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
I see that SETI is still down. I have 3 WUs to upload and a 4th nearing completion. I know what's going to happen - there'll be so much work uploaded when the servers come back on, that SETI will have to shut down again to let the transitioners, or whatever they call them, catch up Overnight, Predictor has been shutdown due to an error in the charmm client. I'm not sure what implications it has for the validity of returned results.
Sigh.

I've a couple of Predictor WUs in the cache but BOINC is crunching SETI stuff at the moment. I remember reading something on the website about potential errors that were acceptable, but there's also a forum where you can post problems so the developers know.

I know what you mean, I have 30 waiting to upload on this machine and 3 upstairs. When they turn it back on they will have to do it a few mins at a time or they will drown under the flood of results.

 WU overload!
Four now waiting to upload, plus a Predictor charmm WU nearly finished. I was hoping SETI would have come back up whilst I was out, but no - still down and no status update. I'm wondering if there is any point processing Predictor charmm WUs given that there's an error in the code - the WUs might have to be sent out again

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
It'll be a few days until I get BOINC up and running again, I've got some work to do on a couple of computers on the network and I'm making sure my main PC is stable first.
Hope you're enjoying the extra CPU time I'm giving to your Predictor ID.

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
On the surface it would appear that the bugs in the BOINC database are common across both projects.
