Do somthing worthwhile FOLD! (aims to find drugs that are effective at aiding / curing diseases) They have had results and are working to better human kind rather than searching for sensor ghosts.

Wow, a distributed computing project with room for us Mac users too!

I thought about SETI but I can't help reaching the conclusion that Folding is likely to be of more immediate use. I am going to d/l the Folding@home client this evening.

How many 'folders' are there here at Cable Forum? Should we form a folding team? (Maybe if there are enough, we should set up another thread and have a friendly competition with these SETI boys? )

i dunno how many folders there are here, but im afraid im a loyal aoa folder (aoaforums.com) If you setup a team and such you can get it added to the extremestats page and get some funky graphics about how you members fold (updated every 3 hours) see link (click on picture) in my sig for an example of such funkyness

Just downloaded SETIspy from http://cox-internet.com/setispy/ instead.

If you just get the running info from that instead of using the pretty interface it runs much faster.

I've used SetiStash for years now, started using it when I was on dialup...so I had to store my packets during the day for when I come home! Things are different now, but I do like to keep 20 packets in store, which is about 2 days worth on my home PC, just incase I can't connect to SETI

I think some are high performing individuals that have registered themselves as teams, but nobody else has joined them.
