Re: Team SETI@cableforum
I've used the same client for the last several years! ...prob shd upgrade it
p.s. just created myself a new account and will join the CF team once my current account gets to 5000!
BUT, the odd thing was that the new account didn't ask for a password!...so I wonder what my current/old account password would be!??? maybe my postcode!

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
Well it runs ok but the units take rather a long time to run don't they.
2 hours for 16%, I would have thought that smaller units would work better.

For the benefit of other Manutd.com account holders that used the old manufree.net internet accounts, swoop101 have got us this link to sort us out!

Depends on your PC and sometimes on the actual unit. My main PC takes about 4 hours to process a full unit. My laptop takes about 5 hours. Shame I can't use my work PC to do units too!

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
My new P4 3.2GHz (o/c to 3.4Ghz) seems to complete in about 50 minutes, not too sure as I don't use any progs that time it...except me and I forget!..but it's about 50mins
I have used every CPU I have access to over the last 5 years, and being a IT manager for the last 3...that's quite a few
My main machines are: (other's I'm not disclosing )
- P4 3.2 Ghz (o/c 3.4Ghz)
- P4 3.0 Ghz
- P4 1.6 Ghz
- P3 733 Mhz
It's funny cause I remember doing this when packets to >30 hours!!! Now I can do twice that in a day!!!!

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
Wow, nice work Cas.
FYI, I'm running on an Athlon XP 3200+ Barton at the moment but will bring on an Athlon 1800+ too.
EDIT: All of a sudden Debsy's sig makes sense...

Rich, how come your first unit is about 5 hours? AMDs can't be that rubbish?

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
Dunno, it was really slow for some reason.
This one got to 50% in an hour though.
I'm using the standard XP client from the site.
