Re: Team SETI@cableforum
Well I have my self a nice little signature image for the e0n project now. Laptop really seems to be optimised for the WU's, it's pumping out 10-15 every 30 minutes on it's own!
With my desktop running it's about 25 total every 30 minutes. Still not many users taking part (about 500, most havn't sent back work in months) so there's plenty of work to give out.

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
The project I have always wanted.....NOW EXISTS!
A new project is coming out sometime in 2005, called PlanetQuest. They most search for stars and planets, but they also search for ET Technology while doing the searchs (pretty clever). At the moment the project is in Alpha development, and will run on BOINC. Any stars or planets discovered by your PC's get listed in your discoveries, and you also get to name your planets!
http://www.planetquest.org/
I can't wait till this is released!

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
OK I think my laptop may have found something in one of it's SETI WU's!
It hasn't been able to upload it yet, but on average my laptop takes 5 hours per WU, but this WU it got took 13 hours and 30 minutes!! That's more than twice as long as it usually does!
The name of the WU is just like the others, but the first 2 numbers are 29, which are quite high. Either it's a larger WU they have introduced, a new type of WU (but that would required other software to be downloaded, which the log reports no such thing) or it has found something!
Will have to see what happens when it uploads it

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
Personally, I don't see the point in searching for signals from extraterresstrials.
I say that based on my reasonable indepth knowledge of the UFO phenomenon and having been told directy by an ex nasa astronaut that aliens are allready "here"
By here, I mean visiting
So why search for signals if they're allready here?
K that sounds abit weird, but if you spend a year or so looking into all things "Out there", you learn the truth is out there, they're allready here.
Projects that use computing power to help find the cure for cancer and other diseases is, in my opinion, more worthwhile, so is the climate prediction one.

Yes....but I don't find them interesting. I prefer to put my PC power towards the things I like, such as searching for spinning pulsars with Einstein@Home and searching for planets when the PlanetQuest project is released.

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
Hey!! Who kicked me off the team??I looked and my name no longer shows in the group...
What did I do wrong?I know I've not been getting my credits but that's not my fault that's beyond my control...I'm faithfully crunching away..

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
SETI@Home has been very buggy lately. I'm fed up of it and I'm fed up of BOINC. Even CPDN and Predictor@Home have become unstable. Only Einstein@Home is stable at the moment

Re: Team SETI@cableforum
Well I just happened to look at my homepage and my stats sig there says that I'm a member of the Netherlands SETI team I've disjoined the team and re-joined the CF team but it would seem that either the database has being corrupted or my account has been hacked.

There was a database migration about a month ago, it totally messed up my account with someone elses which I had to get sorted. LHC@Home have ran out of work (again ) so I've had to attach SETI@Home for a while. Hoping to be able to alpha test PlanetQuest when it's up
