Help finding a charger lead
Right we have noticed my gf's camera she bought 2nd hand has a damamged charger basically one of the prongs on the plug is missing, and as such it won't plug in.
The lead connects using a micro USB lead into the camera ( the same as you would link it to the pc with )and then plugs into a socket to charge the camera.
Without a charger her camera cannot be charged so could anyone help us?

Re: Help finding a charger lead
it charges from a standard mini usb then?
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...78&GroupID=378
Or something like this....
http://l8shop.net/products/USB-Mains...r-Adapter.aspx
Where you can plug a standard usb to mini usb cable in the bottom.
I'm presuming it's exactly the same as my razr charger. If it is a standard mini usb socket that plug is then you should be able to charge it by plugging it into a hi powerd usb (2) socket as well.
pictures of the socket and camera model would be good.

Re: Help finding a charger lead
Is that a Motorola? If so, do you know anyone with a a Motorola phone - try their charger in the first place to see if it works, and then look at getting a secind hand one (I understand eBay's pretty good for that sort of stuff )

The camera model?
Anyway as I (and you ) said it's a mini usb plug. Have a look and see if you've got a usb>mini usb cable and try to charge the camara by plugging it into a usb 2 socket....
If not get either the 1st link charger - or use the 2nd link (although you'd have to get the cable to plug into the bottom - which is the cable I just mentioned)

Re: Help finding a charger lead
It's a webcam? no - in the 2nd link you plug the cable into the bottom of the plug - the cable (that you've got as you just tried charging the camera up with it) plugs into the bottom of the plug adaptor.
the first link would also not work if it won't charge in your usb2 socket.
Having said that if you're usb2 socket won't charge the camera up then neither will the plug thing as they should be the same voltage.
Doesn't the camera have a model number on it?

Re: Help finding a charger lead
Dilli I think we are on cross points here.
THe camera charger plugs into a socket, there is lead coming out is only a micro socket. I cannot remove the lead from the plug, it is part of it.
So it plugs in the wall much as a normal plug with a lead out and then using micro usb plugs into the camera.
We have managed to get the plug into a socket though which is charging the camera right now.
May have to take it down to Maplins on Wednesday to see if we can find another one.

The cable I'm on about has type 'a' one one end (standard) and mini on the other. (which is what comes out of your plug?) - what I'm saying is that if you get the charger from the 2nd link you can plug the type a into it and you will have exactly the same as what you've got at the moment.
Anyway I'm off to bed - my brain hurts.

Re: Help finding a charger lead
With a fresh head and not the few pints intoxicated one I had last night, I see your point Dilli.
Will give it a look we managed to get the plug into an extension lead which is where it is living right now, at least we can charge it, but we know the plug needs replacing.
