PlusNet webspace

OK I know it would be better to post this question on PlusNet's forum, but I'm a member here and not there so thought I'd pick your brains first:

I'm considering PlusNet to be my ISP, part of the consideration is the CGI enabled webhosting that comes with the subscription.

First off, does anyone have any experience of this? Is it reasonably fast? Second, I've read and read and read all the help pages on PlusNet and pages of forum postings on their site - but still don't really understand the following:

I've got a domain name...actually I've got a few - but I'm happy to work on the basis of one right now. The domain name is registered via 123reg (other one is via Uk2.net if it makes a difference).

Right now both of those use the webforwarding functions, which maintains the registered domain in the url bar, whilst loading pages which are stored on some webspace elsewhere (i.e. not with the domain hosts, just free space on my ISP).

AFAIK this creates a frame to allow this to happen, and this seriously reduces my search engine rankings, as they don't read the data from pages, just from the frame created by the forwarder.

So, if I buy some hosting from a company like I-Web, I think I'm right in saying that I just point my domain hosts information at the DNS for that space, right?

So instead of having http://www.mydomain.com in the bar at all times, when someone clicks a link they will see http://www.mydomain.com/index.html and so on. I assume that I can also create folders under the domain such as http://www.mydomain.com/myfolder/index.html and so on, is that correct?

Does it work the same way for PlusNet space? They do have domain hosting and transfer services, but I don't really want to pay 50 quid for then to administer my domain, when I get them for 5 quid elsewhere - I would just want to use the space.

If I did this, would anyone see anypart of the Plusnet url in the address or status bar - or does it work exactly like buying space from I-Web?

Sorry if this sounds like a series of stupid questions, I'm not well versed in the ways of webhosting and just looking for something that looks good to visitors to the site!

Thanks in advance.
