ntl home page & .888 com
Not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes....
I run netguard with popup blocker running, frequently run spybot etc but still get a second window opening ( www.888.com) when I access the NTL home page this is a Bl**dy nuisance. Apart from dont use NTL as my home page is there anything that I can do to stop this?
Is this only when you hit the Browser 'Home Page' button, or anytime you type www.ntlworld.com in IE? Have you tried switching to Firefox?
If it is just when you hit the 'homepage' you might have some spyware that spybot isn't seeing. If so, you could download HijackThis! and post the results of a scan.
As Aragorn says find out if there are any rogue processes running.
You could also try another anti-spyware tool.
Personally, I use both AdAware and Microsoft Anti-Spyware as between them they tend to pick up virtually anything. The Microsoft one also allows you to check your startup environment and restore Internet settings to defaults.

Re: ntl home page & .888 com
Thanks for the replies.
his was happening each time that I accessed the NTL home page.
I have run Hijackthis several times and couldn't see anything that I could blame. However I've just cleared out my internet temporary files and the problem has gone.
