I know for some HP laserjet printers, you can get a tech spec/demo page which will give all the configuration information that's relevant by holding down the buttons on the front of the printer mometarily and then releasing them.

I did just read that on a web page but didn't think it applied becuase it didn't actually refer to his/her model of printer. Try that then and see what results you get.
