My boys currently connect to BB via Samsung STB ethernet connection.
Just received the Xbox 360 & want to connect them to Live.
I have a wireless Belkin 4 port router that I used on NTL BB via a modem dead easy to setup. It is free at the moment as I'm between house moves.
I'm going to wire PC & Xbox to the router.
With STB will I have to register the routers MAC Address using PID/Password?
As this will be recognised as a new address.
or do I have to port the PC ethernet card MAC.
Router will obviously assign local IP for PC & Xbox via DHCP
Help appreciated on both methods.
Prefer the first option.
Yep you will need to register the router - it's easier doing that way than messing around with clloning mac addys.
just power off the STB, disconnect exting ethernet cables. connect the new router and connect PCs to router. Power on STB, then router then PCs. You should get taken to the ntl server registration page when you first try to browse.
