Outlook 2003 problem

Ok i have a weird problem with Outlook and want to sort it out. I have deleted my .pst file accidently and now Outllok complains that it cant find it. I click ok and then it just closes.

Ive tried re installing but this has made no difference.

Re: Outlook 2003 problem

you could try something like this, Wayne

http://www.softforall.com/Utilities/...te09020140.htm

- I havn't tried it myself, but it will only work if the space on the hard drive used by the .pst file has not been overwritten.

Re: Outlook 2003 problem

You are probably going to need to create a new .pst file. From the Outlook menu select File > New > Outlook Data File.

Re: Outlook 2003 problem

Tried that Homealone, and it just found a lot of folders, not the actual file. Thanks for the link though.

I can even do that, as it complains that it can find the file specified, i then click ok and Outlook closes.

Re: Outlook 2003 problem

Why don't you just restore it from the Recycling Bin?

I was able to re add all the accounts (which downloaded the emails) and restore my address book as well

Which means you must have left copies of your emails on the server, if you hadn't you would have lost everything when you deleted the .pst file. Might be worth backing everything up next time just in case Wayne.

Re: Outlook 2003 problem

I have another problem with IE and Outlook 2003.
If you click on Tools - Internet Options - Programs, then occasionally my default email is blank, and I have to reselect Outlook all over again and save.
It's generally a problem if I'm using something like Adobe Acrobat and want to email directly from the program rather than save the attachment and email that, or alternatively email directly from Word.
Does anyone know why the default mail program seems to change to blank of its own accord?
