Desktop Tile Missing (Windows 8)
The desktop tile has become missing on Windows 8 Metro screen, following instructions somewhere else to get it back but desktop doesn't appear to be in the search function or in apps either, it appears to be uninstalled.
Anyone know the way to reinstall it?

Can you not press start key, then right click on the metro screen, click on the all apps button in the bottom right of the screen, find the desktop app and pin to start ?

Re: Desktop Tile Missing (Windows 8)
try this
on normal desktop right click create shortcut . Name it show desktop and in the location copy this %windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{3080F90D-D7AD-11D9-BD98-0000947B0257}
---------- Post added at 17:03 ---------- Previous post was at 17:00 ----------
if that fails show hidden files nav to
C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Hidden
right click desktop and create shortcut then pin to start

Part 1 worked, but it isn't the original desktop tile, which is what i wanted, and as for part 2, i have only
"C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"
There is no "hidden" folder?
Anyway to get the original desktop tile to show?
