Thanks Colin. I've just tried those suggestions, but I use Outlook 2010 Professional, and unfortunately none of those options worked either.

Because that's what I have always done, and it has always worked.

Can I suggest another method, which will make it easier? Use Outlook signatures. Create your templates as signatures and you can just select the template required and it drops into a new message. It may solve the mis-formatting issue and make life easier.

Ok..my last try

Having just added outlook 2010 (seems too busy looking for me)

You need to go into
File tab
Options (small list on left)
Mail
Editor options (small button on top right)
Advanced (on left top)
Then on that screen, there is the option to change cut, paste etc

The rest is for you to work out depending on what you are wanting to do

I have to say, it is not intuitive trying to find that option..too many damn choices, it took me at least 5 minutes to find

Ooh, that's a nice idea.

At the moment I have user templates for a couple of standard replies but they have to be selected from the 'new/use form' menus. I think I'll give the sig idea a try and see if it's any more convenient.

Thanks! This is my way of automating similar messages...very handy for keeping messages consistant when required...

Thanks. Ive been trying that, as it seems to be the obvious answer. But unfortunately no luck. But thanks for trying anyway.

Re: Outlook 2010 problem

Update.

The problem is sorted at last.

After spending an hour on the phone to Microsoft yesterday, they called me back today, and spent another 45 mins on the phone. The operator then used the repair function on the add/remove programs, and hey presto, it works.

So it turned out that it was a bug causing the problem.

So thanks for all those who took their time to try and help.

Tim - still have a look at my suggestion - it saves you even copying and pasting...

Re: Outlook 2010 problem

Have encound a similar problem at work, and it also happens when I copy and paste from other emails.

I have to select all the text goto Format>Style and select Normal, to get the text to display properly.

I will check the setting above and report back.

Re: Outlook 2010 problem

Update!

After one and a half hours on the phone to Microsoft last week, and two and a half hours yesterday, I have finally sorted it

Believe it or not the problem is caused by 'Skype Click to Call'. I don't know if Skype are aware of this conflict yet. In fact the guy from Microsoft had to do some serious digging to find out. But removing click to call seems to have done the trick. Apparently it conflicts with the clipboard in word and excel.

You can't edit the signatures for each customer, so that won't work.
