How can I transfer microsoft office 2007 to my new computer?
My old laptop is closing to its life. I got a new one and trying to transfer valuable softwares.
Now I got a problem. The old laptop had a office 2007 pre-installed (I think so). I could not find any installation CD. Are there any way I can transfer the office 2007 to new laptop before the old HD completely break-down? Can I download office 2007 somewhere then get the code from old machine? In general, what is the right way to do it?
Thanks!

if it is an OEM license I don't think you are technically allowed to transfer it. If it is a retail license then you can. There are tools that will let you extract the key from an existing installation. The legalities of obtaining the install disk are a bit questionable however.
If you are a student of have one in the family you can purchase it http://store.digitalriver.com/store/...e.SHHomePbPage it's not as cheap as it once was

Magical JellyBean is a life saver!
And I can vouch for the download links - they are legit content - they are an MS partner for distrubution of media.

If you're lucky enough to have a Western Digital Hd you can download a free version of Acronis True Drive image from Here however if the Hd isn't made by Western Digital I'm afraid it doesn't work. So I've been told.

Which is useless when changing hardware even if he was keeping the same OS (vista or above) The HAL probably won't boot and I doubt if an old laptop will be running win7 which the new laptop will probably be running.. but as there's no repair mode in win7 XP was the last to have a repair install) you cant repair an unbootable PC..
